Think that you need to insert SOURCE text to TARGET field. Is so simple to write this, but not so easy when you use different CAT tool interfaces. “Control + Insert” key combination may work in some. “Alt + Insert” key combination may work in others. The remaining may become nightmare to you as you start working some strange CAT tools. I have found a strange combination “ALT + SHIFT + G” for inserting SOURCE into TARGET field. God only knows the logic behind this odd key combination.

The above mentioned confusion is only about the SOURCE insertion in TARGET field. When we explore other shortcut combinations,  the comedy will be plenty.

Is there any authority or standardization mechanism to make these shortcut combinations consistent across the CAT tools. Or the combination keys for shortcuts are copyrighted? One this is sure. If the shortcuts are consistent, it will reduce the time translators spend on CAT tools. And it will be a great consolation to the entire industry too.
